On the first floor of Atlas, the Internaat will be located. The new Internaat will combine the functions of meeting place and study area during the day and a bar in the afternoon, like the function of the current Internaa(s)t. During the day it will be a place to meet for students of our faculty. You can get coffee, chat with each other and relax.
A change with our current situation is that we will not have two separate rooms for studying and hanging out anymore. Instead, the new Internaat will combine these two functions and also contain study facilities (which are now in the Internaast). To successfully do this, it is necessary to have appropriate furniture. In September 2016, the HousCie will start with researching the possibilities. One option might be to install high tables which during the day can be used for studying, and during the drink as bar tables, think of Lucid’s ID café.
As the Internaat has to match with the rest of Atlas, the themes of light and openness will also be present in our rooms. However, even though we have to fulfill certain requirements to match the new building, it is important that we can keep our own Intermate identity. Therefore, we still want a place that feels like our own and where we can do our own things, like listening to music, drinking coffee, having lunch, making a puzzle or playing foosball.
More information on the rehousing will be posted once it is announced.
